For this project I was tasked with creating a game application that implements audio programming.  For this project I created horror game that covers many different audio techniques. This was created using Unreal Engine 5 and the Metasounds plug-in.

Audio Techniques

This project covers many different audio techniques that are used within the games industry. One technique used is recording my own audio and doing sound design, this was done using foley techniques.

Another technique used was music implementation and audio synthesis. Audio synthesis is creating audio entirely through code this was done within Metasounds as musical instrument sounds can be generate to create music.

The third technique used was the implementation of spatial audio. This helped to create a sense of sonic space within the game. Attenuation, occlusion and reverberation zones were also used to help and create a realistic audio environment. 

The last technique used was creating a dynamic soundscape, which means that audio within the game level reacts to events in the game such as footsteps, items being picked up and buttons being pressed.
